Rose

A single rose, glazed deep oxide red, rising out of a rough black base. I built the base to look like it grew straight out of the ground beneath it. The stem and the base are one piece, no assembly, so the whole thing had to survive the kiln in one go. It's the most dramatic piece I've made in this series so far.
